Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder Review

13 January 2014

I'm not a huge powered wearer usually, however i've been getting slightly oily throughout the day recently- mainly my nose. So I thought I would give this a whirl after seeing Amelia rave about it in her 2013 Favourites.

I put the powder on over my foundation using the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush, I use this because i find it picks up a lot less product that an normal face brush and I don't want tons. I only lightly dust it over my T-zone, concentrating on my nose and its lovely. It has a fairly good coverage for a powder, it sets nice and matte and makes your skin look super smooth and soft- and best of all doesn't leave your skin feeling tight and cakey (which I hate.) I also use it to set my makeup, such as my under eye concealer or on top of any blemishes i've concealed.

It claims on the packaging to last 10hours, that wasn't quite the case with me. I wear it for about 6-7 hours and then my nose does start to look a little oily so I top it up again and it looks fine. I got the shade '52 Vanilla' which is the lightest of the 4 shades and is a perfect match for me. The packaging is great too, its really slim which means its easy to throw in you bag and has a mirror making it easy to travel with.

The powder costs £8.99 from Boots and I recommend it to anyone who has slightly oil skin, or if you want a nice smooth powder to go over your foundation.
