Mexican food at: La Bodega Negra

28 May 2014

A good few weeks ago me and my friend Avril meet up in London for a catch up, a spot of shopping and of course food- secret Mexican food to be exact. We headed over to La Bodega Negra in Old Compton Street after a good, long day of shopping! The restaurant is disguised as a sex shop with no name above it, after being greeting by the friendly staff you're shown to your table downstairs.

The atmosphere is amazing, very smell, very dark, very loud and with very good food. For starters we both had the corn on the cob which were sprinkled with goodness ( I don't quite know what the goodness was) but it tasted magnificent. For mains we both had tacos I had the pulled pork tacos and Avril opted for the roasted mushroom option which were both delicious. The tacos are quite small so I would maybe order a few portions of different ones to share if you're in a group.

For sides we had some green rice and courgette with tomatoes, the whole meal was lovely and went really well together its kind of like tapas but with Mexican food. Now for my favourite part, dessert. I  had the lemon cheese cake which I still cant stop thinking about three weeks later and Avril had  the chocolate torte I obviously had to try a little and that was also fantastic.

I highly recommend booking a table and trying this place out, its really lovely and something a little bit different!
